Duties and Responsibilities

The Patient Administration Clerk will be responsible for a range of administrative and patient-support duties at Heidelberg Hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Registering patient information and subsequent hospital visits on the Health Information System (HIS).
  • Classifying patients according to the Uniform Patient Fee Schedule.
  • Processing patient discharges and related files.
  • Assisting with revenue-generation processes.
  • Performing general administrative and office duties.
  • Communicating professionally with patients, employees and members of the community.
  • Filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Compiling statistics and administrative reports.
  • Responding to queries from patients and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate patient databases.
  • Assisting with the preparation and recording of meeting minutes.
